I walk unknowingly
It's pitch black to infinity
My eyes struggle to perceive.
I see a flicker of light
And run towards it,
Everything's so bright.
There's a sense of relief
And all that matches my belief,
But the ray is a disguise
Filled with lies.
I search in vain to flee
As the darkness engulfs me,
I feel the rush and surge of pain
I have been abandoned again.
Here comes Diwali
Diyas around the house
Smiles on faces
Sweets in cases.
Rangolis on every doorstep
Decorations at peak
Happiness to the depths
Brightness this week.
Celebrating the festival of lights
With the ones you ignite inside.
